Cop Impersonator Incident in Macoupin Co.

We've been warning you about a man pretending to be a police officer - and pulling people over.

Now a similar report out of Macoupin County brings the total number of reports to six.

The Macoupin County Sheriff's Department is very tight lipped.  It says that someone filed a report with them, claiming to have been pulled over on route 16 near Shipman.  The incident happened between 5 and 5:30 Tuesday night.

Similar incidents have been reported in Sangamon and Morgan counties.

Sangamon County authorities describe the suspect as a white man in his 50's, about 5-10 to six feet tall, with grayish hair, wearing eye-glasses with thick lenses.  He also talks with a high-pitched voice and a southern accent.

If you know anything about the most recent incident in Macoupin County, the sheriff's office wants to hear from you.

Their number is (217) 854-3135.
